JTBC’s “Newsroom” Received Legal Sanction for Broadcasting CCTV Footage of Civilian, Claiming As BTS Suga’s Incident.

Back in August, “Newsroom” covered BTS member Suga’s alleged drunk driving incident. During the broadcast, the program repeatedly aired CCTV footage of an unrelated individual riding an electric scooter, implying it was footage from the actual incident, misleading viewers by not accurately confirming the facts.

As a result, the KCSC imposed a legal sanction in the form of a “caution” on “Newsroom”.

In a separate case, KBS 1TV’s “KBS Broadcasting Seat”, which aired Puccini’s opera “Madame Butterfly” set against a backdrop of Japan on Korea’s Liberation Day, received an administrative guideline in the form of a “recommendation.”
